General Notes (Husband)
Henry was age 11 when his father went into Civil War. Being first son, he was head of family with mother, two brothers, and a sister to care for. He did well. Had 19 children. Henry Martin was farmer, beekeeper, furniture maker and made wine. He and Elizabeth
Ann Crumpton settled in Morgan Co. then moved to Oconee Co in the late 1870's . Some of the furniture made by Henry Martin is used and on display in homes of the family. He made the furniture from walnut trees, on his farm. - A three piece walnut bed-room suite is still in home of Nancy Shelnutt Jones. Contact Union Christian Church, Oconee County for info: Reunion of Shelnutt's each year on Saturday before Valentine's Day.

Bud was an active member at Union Christian Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent, Secretary-Treasurer, and Elder during his life. -- Bud's age listed as 23 in 1920 census, and Mary Lou as age 20.
