Henry made his Will Feb. 10, 1849:-- " I give and bequest to my wife Mary Shelnut all my negroes namely Easter, Susa, Dolly, Binn, Bob, Betty, Milla, George: all my House hold and kitchen furniture during her life--I give and bequest to my friend David Walker two negroes namely Easter and Susa--I give and bequest to my nephew Robert Bell (other six). I give to Peggy Weaver-- Betsy Dorris-- Barbara Bell- - William Shelnut and Andy Shelnut, or the heirs of each of the above named persons, fifty dollars---it is my wish that David Walker and Robert Bell pay fifty dollars for each of negroes bequested--at the death of my wife I wish my land stock household and kitchen furniture sold on a credit of twelve months, the proceeds together with the sums paid by David Walker and Robert Bell be applied to Legacies bequested to my brothers and sisters or their Heirs. Executors; Hugh Mosley, Br. David Walker, and Robert Bell. Witness my hand and seal this 10th day of Feb. 1849. Signed X (mark) (Henry Shelnut) (L.S.) -- in presence of Thomas Rodgers, Peter R. Snelgrove, Sterling Burnett". The Will was recorded in Ninety-Six Dist, Edgefield Area, SC. Probated in Will Book "D" page 356-357 April 7, 1849. John Hill, O. E.D. Henry died of Pneumonia, age 80, (April 7, 1849, Edgefield Co., SC) [Note- Rev. David Walker- Walker in several Shelnut descendants name.]

Henry and Mary had no children listed or known. In a couple of records, he had youngsters listed, but they were nephew & 'kin'.
Henry owned his property and purchased more: Deed Book 19 , p-94-97
Samuel Carter to Henry Shelnut, Deed 10 June 1800, $50--76 acres being part of 1000 acres granted to Samuel Carter 24 May 1793, lying at upper end of original survey adj land of Jacob Miller, John Walker, and sd Henry Shelnut. Rec 14 Oct 1800.

Census 1820, Edgefield Co, SC list Henry "Shellnutt" with 1 male 10-16; 1 male 26-45; 1 female 10-16; 1 female 45+.
These youngsters should be farm hands, all information of Henry from Nathaniel and others state Henry and Mary had no children, and none listed in 'Will'.
William Shelnutt, (brother) was in Surry County, NC and some children missing (they could have been working with Henry).
