Rev. Erastus Shelnutt , minister at Lawrenceville Christian Church, Gwinnett County, which he organized. His name appears on the Corner Stone. He conducted a Tent Meeting on Court House Square in Lawrenceville and organized First Christian Church with 30 members--had 192 members in 1950. He was known as Rev. E.L. Shelnutt and resided in Winder, GA. He held a Revival at High Shoals, Oconee Co, Sept 25 to Oct 29, 1905 and results, the High Shoals Christian Church was built. He was a true Christian leader.
He and his revivals also take credit for organization of Union Gound, Bethany and Lamarr Churches. At Union Ground Chrisian Church, a small bush arbor, before the revival. It then
went to a new name and tabernacle "New Franklin Christian Church", July 1901
Erastus was given credit for this change. He Baptized 15 to 20 people in a nearby stream frequently, at the revival at New Franklin Christian Church.
