Clifford Ray Shelnutt

(FAYETTEVILLE) Clifford Ray Shelnutt, 64, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, on the
Childersburg-Fayetteville Highway.
Mr. Shelnutt was born June 27, 1936, son of the late Walter Lee Shelnutt Jr. and the late
Betty Ford. He was an Army veteran and was marketing manager of Merryweather Foam.
Mr. Shelnutt is survived by his wife of 40 years, Beverly Shelnutt of Fayetteville; two
sons, Tim Shelnutt of Fayetteville and Scott Shelnutt of Chelsea; six brothers, Frank
Shelnutt of St. Louis, Mo., James Shelnutt of Childersburg, Sammy Shelnutt of Sylacauga,
Doyle Shelnutt and Grady Shelnutt of Wedowee, and Calvin Shelnutt of Birmingham;
three sisters, Irma Boyd of Wedowee, Ada Hallman of Sylacauga, and Mary Jo Brocker of Moncure,NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were at Radney-Smith Funeral Chapel, Sylacauga, on Friday, May 11, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Mike Kiser and the Rev. Cary Brown officiating. Interment was in Fayetteville Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Warren Ford, Larry Ford, Leslie Smith, Ryan Ford, Al Barnett and Joe
Shelnutt. Honorary pallbearers were Alfred Wedge, Wayne Veazey, Rooster Grice, Ross
Blocker, Terry Green and Charles Berry.
Arrangements were by Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Sylacauga.
